What we do

Working with the Ancient Kapilvastu Center for Integrated Development of Nepal (AKCID-Nepal ) has been a rewarding and deeply meaningful experience. As an organization dedicated to preserving the historical, cultural, and spiritual significance of the Kapilvastu region—widely recognized as the birthplace of Lord Buddha—AKCID-Nepal serves as a bridge between heritage conservation and sustainable community development. The Center’s mission integrates archaeological preservation, socio-economic upliftment, and environmental stewardship, fostering a holistic model of development rooted in local context.

Ourwork with AKCID-Nepal has involved close collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and international experts to design and implement projects that balance historical conservation with modern needs. Whether it was supporting educational initiatives, promoting eco-tourism, or facilitating heritage site restoration, each activity was guided by a commitment to inclusive development and respect for the region’s cultural legacy. Being on the ground in Kapilvastu, witnessing firsthand the community's dedication and resilience, was truly inspiring.

One of the most impactful projects I was involved in focused on empowering local youth through vocational training linked to cultural tourism. This not only provided them with economic opportunities but also instilled a sense of pride in their heritage. Additionally, the Center’s efforts in environmental conservation—such as reforestation programs and sustainable water management—demonstrated how cultural and ecological preservation can go hand in hand. Overall, working with AKCID-Nepal has been both a professional and personal journey of growth, deeply connected to the land and its enduring spiritual and historical value.
